Architects and Structural Engineers work closely together but you may only need one of us. Where both disciplines are required, we can collaborate from feasibility to ensure a cohesive, structurally sound design.
First we assess the site to determine what is feasible and develop a brief with you. We then provide design options based on your specific project. Once a preferred option is selected, we will develop this for the planning application, or costing.
This statutory approval may be needed prior to construction. We can create the planning application and all relevant documentation to ensure your project has the best chance of approval. Some projects may not need this due to permitted development.
Building regulation approval is almost always needed on every project. It is vital to hire a competent person to carry out this task to ensure the building is designed to the correct technical standards and is built safely. This includes things like proper waterproofing, thermal performance, wall/roof and floor construction build ups. We will prepare the technical, regulatory and construction drawings.
When the project moves to site, we can be on hand to visit site, monitor progress and ensure what we have designed is being built.
We can take on principal designer roles for your project, which includes monitoring health and safety throughout the design process and obtaining building regulation sign off at the end of the project, as well as compliance throughout the project.
We can provide all structural design, calculations, and detailing necessary for your project, including structural coordination prior to planning, technical detailing, construction drawings for building regulations compliance and the builder, and site visits.
